Ongoing Projects

EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAM:

G.V.TRUST is extending Assessment and Early Intervention services to the needy children (0 to 6years) coming from different parts of the district. This project is supported by the District Differently Abled Welfare Office, Cuddalore. Early Intervention program is also carried out in which our Pediatricians and Physiotherapist, Special Educator work together to stimulate the children for indipwndence in their motordevelopment and other skills. Community awarness programme were also conducted for awarness about the handicapping codition and other required services. For example Community awarness march with the help of Rotary club of Chidambaram.

G.V.SPECIAL SCHOOL FOR THE MENTALLY RETARDED:

G.V.Special School for Mentally Retarded is exclusively for the children (6 to 18years) with mental retardation and multiple disabilities. They are from different parts of the district. Education is imparted depending on their skills and they are admitted to the educable or trainable category. We have a Pediatrician, Psychiatrist and Physiotherapist visiting the school ones a month. Down syndrome, Hydrocephaly, Cerebral palsy and Autism are the category of children who are educated and trained to their needs by special educator.

R.N.SUSEELA SCHOOL FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED:

R.N.Suseela School for Hearing Impaired is exclusively for the children from KG to X Standard with hearing impairment and delayed speech. They are from different parts of the districts. The children are educated and trained using sign language and lip movement. Speech therapy is given to the children through a profession. The children are trained and admitted to normal schools and integrated through proper orientation.

KR PHYSIOTHERAPY CENTRE:

KR Physiotherapy Centre was formed on 17.01.2014 with The Rotary International through a matching grant with the help of Rotary Club of Chidambaram by establishing a physiotherapy unit exclusively for the children with special needs. The physiotherapy unit is full fledged with equipments viz., Treadmill, Angle Excerciser, Leg Massager, Long and Shortwave Diatherm, Traction Table, Ulltra Sound Laser, Cp Bed and etc.

G.V.VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE FOR THE DIFFERENTLY ABLED:

Vocational Training is given for different categories to children above 14 years and adult in the age group of 18-24 years. Paper Covers with varying sizes, Chalk Piece, Incense sticks, Phenyl, Greeting Cards, Fancy Jewels, Gift Bags are made by the students of Vocational Training Centre.
